KEIKO YODEN -  Pianist, Organist, Bass

Keiko Yoden-Kuepfer grew up in Katano, Osaka, Japan which is the sister city of Collingwood, Ontario.

As an international pianist, Keiko has performed concertos with numerous orchestras and collaborated with musicians across Ontario.  In 2004 she participated in a Friendship Concert celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic presence between Canada and Japan. Dignitaries from both countries were represented. (at Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, Hericonian Hall in Toronto, and Anglican Church in Heringneck, Newfoundland. )

Keiko started piano studies at age of 7, organ at age of 13 and double-bass at age of 18. She enrolled in the special music study at high school for 6 years and graduated from Osaka National University of Special Music Education courses. Keiko taught music for 8 years at Osaka International University and also worked as a pianist/interpreter for master classes in Austria, Germany and Japan.

Since being chosen to visit Ontario in 1999 as one of the GSE (Group Study Exchange) members sponsored by Rotary International Foundation, she participated in various exchange and cultural activities between Canada and Japan involving music. She is a member of the Collingwood/Katano Sister City Association and hopes to continue building friendships between Collingwood and Katano.

Presently Keiko is assisting with music activities at All Saints’ Anglican Church, Collingwood. Also Keiko is the member of the Arts Advisory Council of the Collingwood Public Library Board and also active member of Georgian Triangle Music Teachers’ Association.
