VERONICA DUVAL - Bassoon.

Veronica was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, where the only snow she saw was the white tops of the Sierra Nevadas in the winter.

She attended California State University, Long Beach, studying bassoon under Charles Coker, and received a BA in Music in 2002. In 2005 she made the big move up to Penetanguishene, Ontario to marry her long-time sweetheart.

Looking for an orchestra to join, she found the HSO through their website. After contacting John Barnum Veronica joined the orchestra in October 2005. “So it was mostly fate that brought me to the group

. I really enjoy making music with the symphony, despite the sometimes perilous drive, and performing with the HSO has made me a much better musician, though I still have far to go.”

Last July (2008) Veronica and her husband welcomed a baby girl into the family, who they hope will someday be able to join the orchestra.
